1361. Govt Commits ₹211 Cr to Boost SpaceTech Startups Under FFS Scheme
- On August 25, 2025 It was reported that, The Union Government has announced an investment support of ₹211 crore (around $25 million) under the Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS) scheme, giving a major boost to India’s rapidly growing space-tech sector.
- Union Minister said the investment will empower homegrown innovators with critical resources and help position India as a rising global space power. “Guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the government is committed to driving innovation, youth-led entrepreneurship, and transformative use of space technology,”
- India’s space-tech sector is witnessing unprecedented momentum, with over 350 startups now active in the field. The country’s space budget has also nearly tripled in the past decade, from ₹5,615 crore in FY14 to ₹13,416 crore in FY26.

1362. Union Minister Pabitra Margherita opens Eri-Spun Silk Mill in Kokrajhar
- Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Sericulture formally inaugurated the Eri-spun silk mill at Bodoland Silk Park, Adabari, Kokrajhar, on August 24. 2025 in the presence of the BTC Chief, MP, BTC EM, and the Secretary of Sericulture.
- Union Minister said that at least 42, 000 families of BTC were involved with sericulture and that Bodoland had the highest number of weavers with over 3 lakhs.
- Minister also said that Assam was the 3rd largest eri-silk producing state in India contributing over 70 percent of eri-silk production and that Bodoland was the most emerging producer in Assam.
- Over 200 crore rupees have been released by the Central Silk Board and Development Commissioner to BTC to develop the Sericulture sector and Eri-Spun Mill is one of its initiatives.

1363. Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma Lays Foundation Stone For PM Ekta Mall In Aizawl
- On August, 25 2025, Mizoram Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the PM Ekta Mall (Unity Mall) at Chawnpui, Aizawl. The project, sanctioned under SASCI 2023–24 with a cost of ₹127 crore, will be constructed at the designated site in Chawnpui.
- The Chief Minister stated that the PM Ekta Mall is a centrally sponsored initiative under SASCI Part 6 (2023–24), envisioned as a hub for showcasing India’s diverse handicrafts, One District One Product (ODOP), Geographical Indication (GI) products, and other locally made items.
- The Aizawl Unity Mall will house 47 stalls – including 36 stalls for States and Union Territories and 11 stalls for Mizoram’s districts. It will also feature a Food Court, Restaurants, Children’s Play Area, Gaming Arcade, Meeting Hall, Movie Theatre, Retail Kiosks, and other facilities.

1364. Arunachal CM Khandu Launches E-Bhavishya To Streamline Pension Payments
- Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister On 25 August, 2025 launched e-Bhavishya, a digital platform by the Arunachal Pradesh government aimed at ensuring timely and transparent pension disbursement for state employees.
- CM said the initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to honoring the service of its employees by ensuring that retirement benefits are delivered without delay.
- Under e-Bhavishya, pension payment orders will be issued on the exact day of an employee’s retirement, eliminating procedural delays that previously caused inconvenience to pensioners.

1365. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Lays Foundation Stone For Three National Highway Projects In Madhya Pradesh To Boost Road Safety, Connectivity
- Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways laid the foundation stone for three major National Highway (NH) projects in Madhya Pradesh on 24 August, 2025.
- The first project involves the four-laning of the 17.87 km Amazhar–Barela Road (Jabalpur Ring Road). The second project focuses on the construction of seven underpasses along the Rewa–Maihar–Katni section of NH-30. The third project covers the construction of six flyovers and underpasses on the Katni–Jabalpur–Lakhnadon section of NH-30/34.
- The Ministry said these projects, under the 'Pragati Ka Highway' initiative, are expected to provide safer, faster, and smoother travel for commuters and commercial traffic in Madhya Pradesh.

1366. Konkan Railway’s special Ro-Ro service finishes inaugural run, offering convenient festival travel
- On august 24, 2025, Konkan Railway’s special roll-on roll-off (Ro-Ro) train service for private cars successfully completed its maiden journey from neighbouring Maharashtra, arriving in Goa.
- The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) introduced this new service to ease travel for motorists and passengers ahead of the Ganesh festival season in the Konkan region of Maharashtra and Goa.
- The service includes a dedicated air-conditioned coach and a second seating coach, ensuring comfort for passengers while their vehicles are securely transported, The cost for transporting a car is Rs 7,875 for the Kolad–Verna route and Rs 5,460 for the Kolad–Nandgaon route.
1367. CM launches ‘BharatNetra initiative’ to boost digital economy
- On August 22, 2024, Odisha Chief Minister launched ‘BharatNetra initiative’, an Integrated Global Financial Technology Capability Hub, in Bhubaneswar. Terming it a transformative initiative that will shape the future of finance in Odisha, Majhi said it will strengthen India’s global leadership in the digital economy.
- The hub has been launched by the Odisha government in collaboration with Global Finance & Technology Network Singapore (GFTN), National University of Singapore and Asian Institute of Digital Finance.
- The project will also establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC), the Chief Minister said. The GCC here will act as a strong foundation for attracting global financial institutions and new investments into Odisha,

1368. India's seafood exports touch $7.5 b in FY25
- On August 24, 2025, it was reported that India exported 16,98,170 metric tonnes of seafood worth ₹62,408.45 crore ($7.45 billion) during the financial year 2024-25, with frozen shrimp continuing to dominate the country's export basket.
- The United States and China emerged as the top importers, according to the Marine Products Export Development Authority. Frozen shrimp alone fetched ₹43,334.25 crore ($5.17 billion), accounting for 43.67% of export volume and nearly 70% of the dollar earnings.
- Exports of shrimp rose by 8.3% in rupee value and 6.06% in dollar terms compared to the previous year. The US remained the largest buyer, importing 3,11,948 MT of frozen shrimp, followed by China with 1,36,164 MT, the European Union with 99,310 MT, South East Asia with 58,003 MT, Japan with 38,917 MT, the Middle East with 32,784 MT, and other destinations together accounting for 64,403 MT.

1369. Madhya Pradesh Transforms Rural Life Over 78 Lakh Homes Get Tap Water
- Madhya Pradesh has provided piped and potable drinking water connections to more than 78 lakh rural households under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), accounting for 70.13% of its total target, according to the data provided by the state government.
- Every home in MP’s 19,760 villages now receives tap water. The state has ensured piped water supply to every household in 19,760 villages, out of which 12,702 villages have been certified as ‘Har Ghar Jal’, the data further revealed.
- The government has approved 27,990 single-village tap water schemes, with 15,542 already completed. These are particularly effective for small villages relying on local water sources. Of the 147 group water supply schemes executed by the state’s Water Corporation, 38 have been completed, benefiting 23,164 villages.
1370. India develops handheld brain injury scanners to avoid delays in treatment
- On august 24, 2025, India has developed a handheld portable brain scan device to detect internal bleeding, offering a low-cost diagnostic tool for traumatic brain injuries in rural and underserved areas.
- Speaking to about the made-in-India handheld brain scan machine, Dr Rajeev Bahl, DG, ICMR, said, "This is a very new technology, which is completely Indian and was developed in an incubator at an IIT in India, supported by ICMR, including its clinical validation and further health technology assessment for cost-effectiveness.
- Developed through a collaboration between ICMR-MDMS, AIIMS Bhopal, NIMHANS Bengaluru, and Bioscan Research, CEREBO has undergone clinical validation, regulatory approvals, and feasibility studies, paving the way for global adoption in emergency and military healthcare systems.
